Why compare eSIM data plans with eSIM Atlas

Buying a travel eSIM shouldn't mean opening ten apps and guessing which is cheapest. eSIM Atlas lines up data plans from every major provider — Airalo, Holafly, Saily, Nomad, aloSIM and Ubigi — across 189 countries, so you can see the real cheapest and best-value eSIM for your destination at a glance instead of checking each shop by hand.

For every country we calculate the price per GB and flag the cheapest, best-value and best-unlimited plan, then lay it all out in a clean table with data allowance, validity, 5G and hotspot support. There's no sales pressure and no reseller markup — just the numbers you need to decide.

We're independent: we don't sell eSIMs ourselves, prices are refreshed regularly, and every page shows when it was last updated. Whether you want a cheap 1 GB plan for a weekend city break or unlimited data for a month of remote work, you can compare it here in seconds, buy online, and install by QR code before you fly — then land connected with no roaming bills and your usual number still working.

Travel eSIM FAQ

What is a travel eSIM?

A travel eSIM is a digital SIM you install on your phone by scanning a QR code — no physical SIM card. You buy a data plan for your destination online, install it before you fly, and connect the moment you land. It keeps your regular number active for calls and texts while you use cheap local data.

Is an eSIM cheaper than roaming?

Almost always. Carrier roaming can cost $5–15 per day, while a travel eSIM often works out to a few dollars for several GB. On eSIM Atlas you can compare the exact price per GB across providers for your destination to find the cheapest option.

How do I install an eSIM?

After buying, the provider sends a QR code. On iPhone go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM and scan it; on Android go to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM. It takes about two minutes. Install on Wi-Fi before you travel and switch it on when you arrive.

Which is the best eSIM provider?

It depends on your trip. Airalo has the widest coverage and cheap local plans, Holafly is popular for unlimited data, and Saily and Nomad offer strong regional bundles. Compare them side by side for your specific country to see who is cheapest in 2026.

Does my phone support eSIM?

Most phones from 2019 onward support eSIM, including iPhone XS and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and recent Samsung Galaxy S, Z and Note models. Check your exact model in our eSIM compatibility checker before you buy.

Can I keep WhatsApp and my phone number?

Yes. A travel eSIM only adds data — your primary SIM and number stay active, so WhatsApp, iMessage and your regular number keep working. You just set the eSIM as your data line while abroad.
